Dr. Francesca Del Baldo graduated with honors (110/110 cum laude) in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Bologna in 2014. From 2015 to 2016, she completed a rotating internship in Internal Medicine at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences (DIMEVET), University of Bologna. In 2016, she began a PhD program under the supervision of Prof. Fracassi. Her main field of interest is small animal internal medicine, with a particular focus on endocrinology. She completed her PhD in October 2019 with a thesis entitled "Canine diabetes mellitus: treatment, monitoring and prognostic aspects." In 2018, she started a Residency in Internal Medicine (ECVIM-CA). In 2022, she obtained the title of European Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine. She is a board member of the Italian Society of Veterinary Internal Medicine (SIMIV) and of the European Society of Veterinary Endocrinology (ESVE). She is the author and co-author of several scientific publications in national and international journals, as well as book chapters. She is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences, University of Bologna, where she is involved in both clinical activities at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and research in the field of small animal internal medicine, particularly endocrinology. She is the Head of the Internal Medicine Unit at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
