Jeroen Dewulf is professor of veterinary epidemiology at Ghent University, Belgium. His research focuses on disease prevention through biosecurity, controlled antimicrobial use and resistance in animal production, and zoonotic diseases. He leads the Veterinary Epidemiology Unit, supervises PhD researchers, and has published more than 270 scientific papers. Dewulf is a leading expert in antimicrobial stewardship in animal health, serving as principal author of the Belgian BelVetSac report, a member of the European ESVAC network, and founder and chair of AMCRA, Belgium’s center of expertise on antimicrobial use and resistance in animals. He is also the author of several influential books on biosecurity and antimicrobial resistance.
